Update… 5/16
Wednesday – 5/16
We got to go down to Portland on Monday and see Grace’s aunt and uncle, Fred and Gail Jubitz. It was good to see them and spend the day with them. They took us on a grand tour of their company, . We also enjoyed spending the day with Brother Reno and his wife, Amy. The fellowship was a blessing.
We made it home safely yesterday about 4:30. It was so good to see the kids again. It seems like we have been gone for a month. We woke up at 2:30 Tuesday morning and left the motel at 3:30. We appreciate Brother Reno getting up so early and taking us to the airport. We flew out at 6 AM and spent the day in the air and in airports. Needless to say, we are exhausted. We were just glad we got to fly together this time. I’ve added some pictures to the gallery below. Several are of us on the plane, and one is of me and Grace in her Uncle Fred’s Ferrari. He took us in a spin in it. I’m gonna have to get me one of those things. One day. Ok.
More later…

Monday – 5/14
Apparently my biological clock is still set on Eastern Standard Time. It’s 4:0o AM and I’m wide awake, updating my blog. We had a great day yesterday in God’s house. We arrived at church before church and Grace and I ran over a couple of songs before Sunday School. Pastor Reno informed me that I would be teaching the teens and adults combined for Sunday School. I taught out of James 1 on the Vain Religion Versus Valid Religion and God blessed it. I love those verses! I still had the Post-It note from when I filled in for Brother Jason a few weeks back. That Post-It has earned its keep!
Sunday morning I preached on What It Means To Be Saved on the Philippian jailor. The Holy Spirit was working, but nobody got saved. Pray for several unsaved people that were there. Sunday night I preached on The Likeminded Man and stressed the importance of unity in the church, primarily the need to unify behind the pastor. It was his birthday Saturday, so the church presented him with a nice 30-30 lever-action rifle after church. These are my kind of people!
We will be driving down to Portland today to visit Grace’s aunt and uncle. Lord willing we will be flying out Tuesday morning at 6 am and arriving home around 4:40 on Tuesday. Pray we get to fly home together this time. : )

Sunday – 5/13
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mothers out there! The meeting out here has been going well. God has really seemed to help some people, and the altars have been filled each night with people doing business with God. Praise His name! Grace and I have thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship with Brother Reno and his wife, Amy. They are very sweet and thoughtful people. He has been at Berean about 3 months longer than I’ve been at Pleasant View. We are still discovering similarities between us, so much so that Brother Reno remarked yesterday that he believes that he and I are really twins, separated at birth! I laughed, but it is uncanny at the things that we have in common. When they remodeled their church, his choice for tile and paint colors are almost exactly what I picked when we renovated our church nearly 5 years ago. Weird!
Grace spoke to over 130 ladies yesterday at the Mother Daughter Banquet and was able to present the gospel. Please pray for the seeds that were planted to yield fruit. Brother Reno and his men put on a feast with steak, deep fried turkey and baked fish with all the trimmings. It was a beautiful banquet, and the food was outstanding.
We are looking for God to do a great work in hearts today. Please pray for us!!
