After several years of prayerful consideration, Pastor Raynes presented his burden for a Christian education ministry to the church family in 1993. The school opened in August of that year with thirty students made up entirely from the church family. For the past several years, the enrollment has stabilized right around forty students. Records are kept of the graduates, and the most recent review documented that a significant majority are faithful to a Bible-believing church and are serving the Lord. From its birth, Pleasant View Christian Academy has existed for the sole purpose of working hand in hand with Godly families who desire to bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. It is the continued aim of the church family, pastor, administration, and faculty to see each student who walks across the platform with a diploma in hand serving the Lord.

God has blessed the school. While very small, even by Christian school standards, the academic and fine arts track record of the students is excellent. In nation-wide academic testing, PVCA students consistently rank in the top ten-fifteen percent of all students nationwide. At the annual fine arts competition held by the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools, Pleasant View has a reputation for achieving excellence while competing with a good spirit. The students have won numerous awards at the state and national level in speech, vocal, instrumental, and handbell music, Bible quiz, and academics.

Isaiah 54:13 says, “And all the children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of thy children.” PVCA has operated under the guidance of our Pastor and church to be an instrument of PEACE in the lives of children.
