An important part of providing the very best in Christian education is keeping your sword sharp! On Thursday and Friday, September 20 and 21, the PVCA faculty were able to do just that. The annual teacher's convention was held in Spartanburg, SC this year, and we enjoyed workshops on a wide variety of topics.

Psalm 39:4, "Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am."
David's prayer in this psalm reminds us of the frailty and brevity of our days on this earth. David's son Solomon came to the sad conclusion that, "All is vanity." Thankfully, he didn't stop there, but realizing, just like his father had, that this temporal life was not all there is, he went on to say, "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth." That is why Pleasant View Christian Academy exists. Our purpose is to help young people remember their Creator.
The guiding theme for this school year is, "Will What You Do TODAY Matter in Eternity?" Pastor Shiflett has challenged us ever since he came here with the soberness of a quote that gripped him one day. That quote by Dr. Charles Keen was, "I'm not worried about being a failure. I'm worried about being a success at something that is not important to God."
With God's help we will seek to give our young people the best, sharpest tools we can, so that they can serve God and invest their life in something that WILL matter in eternity.

On Monday, August 27, PVCA will open its doors to begin year number 15 of "Training Youth With Truth." What a blessing it is to work with born-again, Bible-believing parents who desire to see their children receive a Christ-centered education.
Volunteers, faculty, and staff have been busy the past several days cleaning, painting, and making preparations for the students. We are excited about the prospect that another new school year brings and invite our friends in the ministry to pray for us as we kick off a brand new year.

The PVCA graduating class of 2007 was made up of four fine young people. A special blessing this year for the church and school family was that three of these students have attended PVBC since birth and PVCA since kindergarten! Here are the testimonies that these three gave at their graduation service on Tuesday, May 22, 2007. The remaining student, Sarah Hedgpeth has headed for California where she will spend some time with one of her sisters and help with a special needs nephew, a special treat for Sarah!

On Tuesday, May 22, PVCA enjoyed an awesome ending to its fourteenth year of providing quality Christian education.
At 10:00 A.M. the students, their parents, faculty and administration enjoyed the annual awards ceremony. Mr. Chad Connelly, president and founder of Foundation for American Restoration spoke on the difference between inspiration and motivation using three great, but unknown, Americans and the "story behind the story behind the story." After his tremendous presentation, the faculty enjoyed recognizing the hard work and accomplishments of the student body.
