Certainly we are living in perilous times, and it is obvious that too many churches and professing Christians are in a luke-warm condition. Praise the Lord, we don't have to be a part of the Laodicean church! We can stay in Philadelphia! Glory to God!
God has done and is doing some great things for His people, and we believe He wants to do even more if we'll let Him! Here are a few of the blessings we've personally received or been made aware of in recent days.
This past Friday night our Youth Choir was privileged to sing at a youth rally at Zirconia Baptist Church in Zirconia, NC. God blessed and met with us. The youth choir was a blessing to the service, and God used Bro. Matthew Morgan and Bro. Ray Bearden to speak to hearts.
Then on Saturday, God used James Esser, Nate Ellis, Brandon White, Justin White, and Brother Bearden once again. God honored the prayers, fasting, and faithfulness of the young men who organized this meeting. He spoke to many people, young and old alike, about going all the way with God, and seeking His power and His annointing in our lives. During the first message of the Saturday evening service, God's presence just settled in over the church as Brother Brandon White exalted the Saviour! Words cannot express the manifestation of His presence that we enjoyed for the next couple of hours. Please pray for these young men that God will keep His hand on their lives, and that they will be used of God to lead many young people to Christ.
Pastor Shiflett and Brother John Morgan had the privilege of attending the Southeast Missions Conference at Walter's Grove Baptist Church where Bro. Jeremy Simpson pastors. They came away blessed and renewed in their desire to reach a lost and dying world. Both have testified to the work God did in their hearts during the meeting. A particular blessing was another "feast of charity" they enjoyed on Friday afternoon when God just settled in among His people in a very special way!
Bro. David Young from Antioch Baptist in Harlem, GA, is entering his third week of preaching for Bro. Bobby Vangiller in Statesboro, GA. God has been doing a marvelous work in that church.
Bro. Matthew Morgan is preaching through Wednesday at the White Horse Heights Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. On Monday night, Brother Matthew preached his testimony. In the service that night was a twenty-five year old young man that Bro. Scott Silvers had brought to the meeting. God had divinely brought this young man into Bro. Scott's path on Monday during a visit to a local drug store. Brother Scott obeyed that still, small, voice of the Holy Spirit and reached out to the young man, David. As the service progressed, God brought deep conviction into David's heart, he responded to the gospel, and was gloriously saved! Continue to pray for this meeting and for our new brother in Christ!
Sunday was a day in which we enjoyed God's presence, fellowship with believers, and preaching from the Word. Sunday school assembly became a testimony service, and the Sunday morning message in the eleven o'clock hour was tremendous. Every young family in every Bible-believing church in America should hear Pastor Shiflett's message from I Samuel chapters 1-3. Pastor has a tremendous burden for Christian homes, and this burden was conveyed to our church family as he preached on Sunday morning. This service was also special as Bro. and Sis. Jason Parham dedicated their second little girl to the Lord!
Surely we are unworthy of the least of His mercies, and we pray as Habakuk did in chapter three, verse two: O LORD, I have heard thy speech and was afraid: O LORD, revive they work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
