The Pleasant View Family has been blessed in recent weeks to see visitors in almost every service, and God is continuing to work in lives. MANY homes and individuals have been confronted with their need of a Saviour! The Hispanic ministry continues to be used of God to reach out with the truth of God's Word to the many thousands who are here in our area. New students are coming to the English classes, where they always receive truth from the Bible as a part of their English lesson. Almost weekly, we get reports from those involved in the prison and detention center ministries of evidence that God is working in hearts and lives of those that are incarcerated. Services are held in three different nursing home and assisted living facilities as well, as we endeavor to reach the elderly, their families, and even the caregivers. In addition, we have seen the Holy Spirit work within the church family.
On Sunday, September 16, 2007, Pastor Shiflett preached with a tremendous burden for those who would sit in a Bible-preaching church Sunday after Sunday and still die and go to spend eternity in the lake of fire. One of the children in the church was saved that morning, and another young man was saved at home that afternoon!
Then on Saturday, September 22, 2007, the youth choir sang at a youth rally in Easley, SC, and Pastor Shiflett preached. Many of our own young people as well as others, were in the altar at the conclusion of the service, and a teen-age girl professed faith in Jesus Christ.
As laborers together, we would ask those who know the Lord to join us in prayer as we try to reach the lost both here and abroad.
