Sunday, June 8, was a blessed day at Pleasant View Baptist Church. There was a warm, sweet, and free spirit in the services all day long, and it was "good and pleasant" for the brethren to dwell together in unity! It was obvious that despite the physical fatigue of a busy week of camp meeting, God had done a work in many hearts.
The 10:00 A.M. service opened with some Spirit-filled singing and great testimonies of what God had done through the preaching of His Word during the meeting. Then Bro. Bill Howard preached with the annointing of the Holy Spirit using the passage regarding Demas as his text. God has His hand on Brother Howard, and how thankful we were to have his family here during camp meeting.
Then, Pastor Shiflett preached from Jonah and Ecclesiastes and exhorted us to, "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is." So many times, we make vows to God that only last for a few days or weeks. What a powerful, sobering, convicting reminder to take God, His house, and His Word seriously. Many used the altars that morning to do business with God.
God blessed again in the evening service with freedom to worship, good fellowship and straight Bible preaching from the book of Ruth on, "Why This is My Favorite Field!" God has surely blessed us in this corner of the vineyard, and we love this, "part of the field!" Amen!
A van load of children and young people went to family camp at Sand Mountain Bible Camp in Trenton, GA, this week. We are praying that God will richly bless them and all the other campers who are there to hear from God.
