LOTS OF CAMP PICTURES UPLOADED! CHECK THEM OUT!
Praise the Lord for a great Junior Camp, "I'm in the Lord's Army!" Camp ended on Friday morning with a great message from Brother Nate Ellis, and the young people left with hearts challenged and changed by the Word of God and lots of great camp memories!
Thursday was "water day", and the young people enjoyed the annual hillbilly water slide, a very challenging obstacle course, and two large inflatables. That evening we had a patriotic program which included presentation and retiring of the colors by an American Legion team, a narrated flag-folding ceremony, rifle volley, and "Taps".
The evening banquet was preceded by graduation of all of the recruits. In addition to their "boot camp" graduation, the campers were recognized for their final rank (based on Scripture memory, Bible reading, leisure reading, and bunk area cleaning), and their accomplishments on the challenge of the week; the mountain climbing hike on Wednesday.
Brother John Morgan brought a tremendous message on Thursday night during the service, and God honored the tender-hearted response of the children with a good breath from Heaven! It was a blessing to see the children respond to the presence of God.
The evening wrapped up with a skit by Pastor Shiflett and Brother Morgan, a final round of the kids favorite game, "ZONK!", and story time with "Mrs. Chris."
Plans are already underway for next year's camp, and we hope you'll make plans to join us!
Mid-Camp Report
Junior Camp 2008 is off to a great start! Nearly 100 campers (not including workers, cooks, counselors and sponsors!) from ten different churches are here this week enjoying good fellowship, food, crafts, field trips, and most of all GREAT preaching from the Word of God.
This morning's message from Brother Vaughn, "From a Farm Boy to a General!" was right on target and helped a lot of children, young people, and adults!
The cooperation has been great, and the campers are participating with a very excited spirit that makes them easy to work with! Several have already advanced from "recruit" level to lieutenant. We are expecting many to make it to the rank of general.
Four more services remain and plenty of activities, so keep us in your prayers. Don't forget to check out the photo page for some shots of campers and camp activities!
