Pray for Philippines Mission Trip |

Yesterday, Bro. Doug Raynes and his oldest daughter, Stacy left for a 14 day missions trip to the Philippines. Please be much in prayer for their safety and for God to use them mightily while they are there. This will be Bro. Doug's third trip to the Philippines, and Stacy's second trip. Bro. Doug has been used in the past to encourage the pastors, missionaries and to teach the nationals on various topics, especially on the subject of the family and the godly home.
This trip, Bro. Doug will be going to a remote village in the mountains that have had very little, if any exposure to the Gospel. Be much in prayer for him that God would allow him great opportunities to witness and share the Gospel with those precious people.

Sister Moon, a long-time faithful member here at PVBC who has been a shut-in for several years, broke her hip and required surgery late Saturday night. As of Tuesday morning, she was moved to the Piedmont Nursing home in Greer. Please pray for this dear sister in Christ.

God said He would work in us according to, "His good pleasure." What a work He continues to do here at PVBC. Sunday morning, our adult Sunday School teacher, Bro. Michael Townsend reminded us of the fact that in His own city, Jesus was limited because of the familiarity the folks there had with Him. The seriousness of taking His presence for granted was the main point of the lesson, and how we needed it! We DO need His presence, and we are very grateful for what He is doing in our midst.

When I was about 12 years old a neighbor invited me to church, I was friends with her son and she usually took him so I decided to go.
While sitting in Sunday School, I remember laughing and cutting up but don't particularly remember anything else that went on during that class. It was during the preaching that God arrested my attention.
