Thank the Lord for preaching! Print E-mail

The Campmeeting this year has been blessed with some extraordinary preaching from the Word of God.  Every man that has stood behind the sacred desk has brought a message with life-changing principles and truth.  Yesterday, (Wednesday), the morning began with a message on Faith by Evangelist Jimmie Clark, followed by a classic by Dr. James Jones on "Salvation is of the Lord".  The afternoon service was blessed by two messages by Matthew and John Morgan.  God moved and the altars were full.  The evening service was a thrill as Bro. Chad Watson preached on "The First Day with King Jesus" and focused our attention on the glorious changes of the 1,000 year reign of Christ.  Bro. Dale Massengale preached on Samuel and on "How to go from a Child to a Champion".  My! How our hearts were challenged to raise our kids for God!

We thank the Lord for those that have been able to come this year, and especially for those that gave in the offering yesterday afternoon where the bulk of the expenses were raised in about two minutes!  God has been good, and we thank Him!

Last night was a blessing as we met together to kick off the 28th June Campmeeting here at Pleasant View Baptist Church.  We had the distinct joy of honoring one of God's servants, Dr. Milford Biddle last night.  We had a special DVD presentation of his life and honored him with The Servants Award for 47 years of faithful service.  His family was here, including his 95 year old sister and his daughters.  His daughter and grand children sang "But Until Then" and then he preached a tremendous message.   The service was concluded with a wonderful message by Pastor Emeritus,  Dr. Larry Raynes out of Hebrews 4 on "Let Us Fear, Lest We Fall".  We look forward to God working this week.

If you can make it out to the meeting, we'd love to see you!  Please pray for us that God will be glorified this week as we pray for an awakening and a revival in the hearts of God's people.

A wonderful Sunday... Print E-mail

What a God we serve!  Our hearts were thrilled yesterday at the moving of God in both services.  We had drop-in missionaries both services, and they presented their burdens to our church.  In the evening service, God moved in a great way after a message entitled, "Going To Hell From Calvary" about the thief on the cross that did not repent.  We saw 4 saved during the service, and 2 saved in the Spanish service.  All 6 stood and testified to the church of what God had done for them.  Thank the Lord for saving sinners and for stirring hearts.  Three precious people received assurance of their salvation as well.  Serving the Lord is truly a joy!

Pray for Philippines Mission Trip Print E-mail

Yesterday, Bro. Doug Raynes and his oldest daughter, Stacy left for a 14 day missions trip to the Philippines.  Please be much in prayer for their safety and for God to use them mightily while they are there.  This will be Bro. Doug's third trip to the Philippines, and Stacy's second trip.  Bro. Doug has been used in the past to encourage the pastors, missionaries and to teach the nationals on various topics, especially on the subject of the family and the godly home.

This trip, Bro. Doug will be going to a remote village in the mountains that have had very little, if any exposure to the Gospel.  Be much in prayer for him that God would allow him great opportunities to witness and share the Gospel with those precious people.
