Directions to Zirconia Baptist Church
The youth choir is scheduled to sing at Zirconia Baptist Church on Friday evening.
Take Hwy 25 North toward Hendersonville, NC. Approximately 5 miles after you cross the state line, the road will narrow and become Hwy. 225. Go about one half mile (or less) and you will see the Old Zirconia Road, or Zirconia Road, we've been told both names, on your LEFT. There is also supposed to be a "Youth Revival" sign of some sort posted here. Turn left, and you will come to the Zirconia Baptist Church.
Service begins at 7:00 P.M. and it will take you approximately 30 minutes ti get there from Pleasant View. The Zirconia Baptist Church family is providing pizza after the service and has made arrangements to feed our entire group, so please make plans to stay for a little while, and be sure to let them know how much we appreciate their hospitality.

Come praying and asking God to let us be a blessing to the service. Pray for the men who will be preaching.

Wonderful Wednesday Night Service Print E-mail

What a blessing to be in the mid-week service last night at Pleasant View! Thank the Lord for an "old-fashioned" church that begins each service with men's and women's prayer rooms. Then some good heart-stirring music from the congregation and youth choir directed our hearts and minds toward our God and prepared us for His Word.

Bro. Bobby Nichols and his family were with us, and the church family enjoyed their music and his presentation of his burden for the country of Brazil. Following Brother Nichols, Pastor Shiflett preached a tremendous message from Colossians chapter 1 on the "Preeminence of Christ." Then, what a thrill to see a man in his 30s walk the aisle and trust Christ as his personal Saviour!

We were blessed to have other visitors in the service and thank the Lord for a great Wednesday night service.

The Bobby Nichols family, missionaries to Brazil will be singing and presenting their work on Wednesday, Feb. 28th.  Bro. Bobby is a second-generation missionary and will be going to labor with his dad, Bro. Bob Nichols and his brother Bro. Charles Nichols.  This family is sure to bless your heart, so make sure you don't miss them this coming Wed. night.  We will be taking a love offering for them, so come prepared to give.  You will want to be a part of their ministry!  I have personally known this family for well over 20 years and look forward to having them in the service.

Letter from Pastor Shiflett Regarding the 2007 Campmeeting Schedule Print E-mail

For many years, Pleasant View has ministered to pastors and their people with two Camp Meetings a year; one in the summer and one in the winter. The Camp Meeting, though just one of the many ministries of PVBC, has certainly been one of the most loved and appreciated. Churches have been coming to these meetings and have left refreshed and revived - many times taking the spirit of the meeting back to their own church. God has used this camp meeting to be a tremendous blessing to a lot of people down through the years.

Since I arrived as Pastor back in August of last year, I have been praying for direction from the Lord about the Camp Meeting ministry. I have always loved this meeting and know that many people do also. However, I began to feel that if we only had one Camp Meeting per year, it would open the door for our church to have more revivals and special services. Our people do such a great job hosting the Camp Meetings that the meeting is actually a ministry of our church for other churches. Our men and ladies are so busy behind the scenes that they normally only get to participate and attend the evening services.

I proposed to the church last night my desire to drop the December meeting and just have one Camp Meeting a year. When the church heard my reasons, they agreed unanimously. The December meeting has grown over the years, with the 2005 meeting being the largest winter crowd ever. We had a wonderful meeting in 2006, and God blessed us with some wonderful preaching and singing.

My desire is to have one really big Camp Meeting each year during the month of June. In the past, pastors and people had two meetings to choose from. Now, they will only have the one, and I believe we can have bigger and better meetings as a result of that. Another factor is the increase in Camp Meetings across the country. Many churches now host their own, and for us to continue to host two a year no longer seems necessary. Lest anyone get the wrong impression, we are not backing up or slowing down. We are just making room for growth in other areas. I have so many new ministry and outreach plans that streamlining the current ministries only opens up more doors for growth, participation and efficiency.

We will not be having the December camp meeting this year, so please make note of this change. The June meeting will be the same dates as earlier announced (June 4-7) Pray for us as we continue to seek God's direction for the future of this ministry, and pray for the meeting that it will be a blessing to others as it has been in the past. Make plans now to attend.

Powerful Preaching in the Pleasant View Pulpit! Print E-mail

Bro. Jerry Sexton with Bearing Precious Seed (Bible publications) brought a tremendous message this morning on "Removing the Dross from the Silver." What a challenge to search our hearts and make sure that we haven't allowed carnality to tarnish the beautiful gift God has given to us. Then after our hearts were stirred by the good congregational and choir music, Bro. Shiflett preached with ALL he had from Revelation 3 on the "Open Door." Praise God for the opportunity to serve God in these perilous days. May God give us the grace to walk through every door of opportunity He sets before us!

Then in the evening service, Bro. Sexton presented his burden for the ministry of Bearing Precious Seed Bible publications. The church was touched by his passion and clear presentation of the power of the Word of God and gave a generous offering for Bible publishing. Following Bro. Sexton's challenge to the church, Bro. Shiflett brought a tremendous message on purpose  from Daniel chapter 1.
