They That Gladly Received His Word Were Baptized Print E-mail
Sunday, April 6, was a special day for Pleasant View Baptist Church! The presence of God was real from the opening Sunday School assembly!

Then, Pastor Shiflett called on the youth choir to sing. What a blessing! After a couple of good songs, the older members of the youth choir sang "I'm Amazed", and our hearts were touched afresh and anew with the amazing grace of our Saviour!

Pastor asked Bro. Tommy Holbrooks to preach, and brother did he preach! Luke 15 was the text, and God annointed the message in a wonderful way.

After a good altar call, the service moved out to the patio where we had our baptistry set up. What a thrill it was to see nine precious souls baptized; four Hispanics, a young married couple, one teen age boy, and two children. We sang, praised the Lord, and enjoyed His presence just like we did in the church service!

Sunday night there was a sweet, sweet, spirit in the service, and Pastor Shiflett brought a tremendous message on King Josiah.

A special treat in the night service was the report from a group of young people who had gone to the nursing home to fill in for Bro. John Morgan who was preaching in Georgia. A seventy-two year old man repented of his sins and trusted Christ!

Another blessing was the fact that all four of the Hispanics baptized in the afternoon expressed a desire to become a part of the church family to be discipled! Glory to God!
