After a downturn in the Hispanic ministry during November, December and early January, we have seen the interest begin to slowly pick up over the past few weeks.
Continue to pray for Sara who was saved several weeks ago. She regularly attends the Spanish service at 5:00 P.M. on Sundays and quite often stays for the regular Sunday evening service.
Geraldo came several weeks last spring, and then we lost contact with him for several months. Our burden for him never let up, though, and seemingly "out of the blue" he showed up several weeks ago for the Wednesday evening English class. After attending faithfully for several weeks, he came two weeks ago to the Sunday afternoon English class and stayed for the Spanish service. On his own, he has started memorizing the verses used as part of the English lesson. For two weeks in a row he has also stayed for the regular Sunday evening service. Please pray for his salvation.
Marcos and Maria were visited, and both expressed an interest in the Sunday English class and Spanish service. After attending for two weeks, their work schedules were changed preventing them from coming. Marcos brought his brother Arturo on the second Sunday, and he continues to attend. Pray for Arturo, and please pray that the Lord will intervene in the work situation, allowing Mario and Marcos to return. Both had shown a very tender heart and an interest in spiritual things from the start. It is obvious that Satan has put up a strong fight to keep them from hearing the truth.
Three of our original visitors, two of whom attended faithfully for several months, have stopped coming altogether. Please pray for Warner, Wilson, and Míanor.
Several young men told Brother Holden they would ride the church van to service on this past Sunday afternoon. When he arrived to pick them up, they were nowhere to be found. Pray for these young men as we try to get them under the sound of the gospel.
A family of four sisters (all adults), attended the Wednesday evening English classes for most of last summer and into the fall. We were never able to get them to come to a service, but we had some good opportunities to sow some gospel seed during the English lessons. In addition, some of the Hispanic workers had some good home visits with them. The time change and colder weather seem to have affected their attendance. Pray that we can reestablish contact with this family, and that they will return to the classes and then the services.
In Revelation we read that the redeemed will come from every kindred, tongue, people, and nation! We want to share the good news with as many of them as possible. They are so blind because of religion, and it is heart-breaking to see their trust in "the virgin" and "the church." Pray that we will have the power of the Holy Spirit as we give them the truth!
