Dear Pastor,
I hope this letter finds you and your people doing well and excited about the privilege of serving our wonderful Saviour! Our prayer is that God will open many great doors of opportunity for you in your place of ministry this coming year. I'm reminded of Paul's statement in I Corinthians 16:9, "For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries." Surely we are in the last days, and Satan knows his days are numbered. So, with every open door comes a host of adversaries! Don't let the adversaries discourage you! Thank God for the great and effectual open door! Don't forget the truth that "Greater is He that is in you (us), than he that is in the world." (I John 4:4)
We thank the Lord for what He is doing here at Pleasant View Baptist Church. This past month we had a tremendous meeting with Dr. James Jones from Harriman, Tennessee. The preaching was tremendous, and we enjoyed great liberty in every service. What a week of refreshing in the presence of God! I would encourage you to check out our web site and order those CDs. Dr. Charles Keen, founder of Bearing Precious Seed and First Bible ministries preached to our people on Sunday, February 17, about stewardship. Our hearts were thrilled and challenged with the truth Brother Keen shared with us about reaching our full potential for God. We are now making plans for the 2008 Camp Meeting, June 2-5. I hope you'll join us for a great time enjoying the preaching from the Word and the presence of God.
We are praising the Lord for two young men who have come to the home during the past three weeks. Mark is from Maryland and is in the seventh grade. Prior to coming here, he was in a very good boy's home that is no longer operating. It was there that he made a profession of faith in the summer of 2007. Jeff, our newest boy, is from New Jersey and is nine years old. Please pray for God to enable us to have a life-long impact on these boys. Our hearts were broken recently when one of our boys left after being here for nearly three years, and we are so grateful that God has sent these new fellows our way.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support. Continue to lift this ministry up before the Lord. In His time, we would love to have more boys to train and to love! Remember the Gazaways in your prayers as they minister to the least of these.
Serving the Lord With Gladness,
M.S. Shiflett
