Dear Praying Friends,
"God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause His face to shine upon us; Selah. That Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. (Psalm 67:1-3)
Dr. Kalily, Bob's orthopedic surgeon, operated again on Bob's right shoulder. This is the third shoulder surgery in nine months, and the second surgery on Bob's right shoulder.
Dr. Kalily said that it looked as if a grenade had gone off inside his shoulder. The rotator cuff is destroyed and could not be
repaired. The doctor was able to clean out a lot of scar tissue and cut out pieces of some of the torn tendons, ligaments, and muscle. He was able to sew some of them back together. He said it was a big mess.
Because of the damage, Bob will never have any strength in his right arm, but hopefully, after a year or so, Bob will be able to use it. The left shoulder is giving Bob more trouble too, so we do not know what
will happen there in the future.
A missionary friend that has had a lot of back problems and shoulder problems called to tell us of a product that is helping her called "Reliv." It helps to build your body back to health from the cellular level. It has been a big help to our friend, Susan Vermaas, so I am going to try to see if it will help him.
Please pray that it will.
At present, Bob is still confined to his recliner and cannot do much of anything. He does read around 50 chapters a day in the Bible, claiming God's promises, and praying for folks around the world. He is really praying that God will raise up folks to give financially to Bearing Precious Seed, so millions of
people around the world can have the Word of God in written form. The need for the Scriptures
is overwhelming, staggering. May God touch people's hearts. Though Bob is in intense pain, his spirits are high. He praises the Lord and does not complain. He does miss being on the road in meetings and on the foreign field helping missionaries in evangelistic campaigns with the Scriptures. We love you all and appreciate your prayers, concern, and financial help for our ministry and family. You are an amazing, precious, special people, and we thank God for you daily. Your cards, letters, e-mail, and phone calls mean much to us. Those of you who have called or written to tell us you will be participating in National Bible Publishing Month have been a special encouragement to Bob.
May God reward you richly for caring.
May God continue to use you, bless you, and meet your every need, as you labor to glorify our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ in 2008.
Yours for Christ and His Word,
Bob and Marie Ford--Eph. 3:20, 21
